Born in Chicago and raised by an international family in Zimbabwe, Southeast Asia, and India, Richard’s nomadic journey sheds light on his ambition to create a “golf-play-education experience” unlike anything ever conceived. DiscoverGolf is that vehicle, and it, alongside Richard's tireless dedication, serves to empower its tens of thousands of students, families, and communities with a strong group identity and personal growth. Most would describe Richard as a voracious reader, an impassioned game designer, and an unwavering advocate for childhood play, but what he really is, is a coach. Forever coaching himself, the coaches who work beside him, and, of course, the students (“DGers”) he cares so deeply for.
Jack Turner, PGA
CO-DIRECTOR/COO OF DISCOVERGOLF
Designer & Class A PGA Professional
BIO:
Jack is a Class-A PGA Professional from Sparta, New Jersey. He has been working under Richard Franklin since 2016 and is the Co-Director and COO of DiscoverGolf. Jack has taught thousands of lessons, with a background of working with players of all ages and skills from beginner to TOUR level. Jack graduated from Coastal Carolina University in Business Management and has certifications in User Experience Design.
Statement from Jack:
More than just a Golf Coach, my role goes far beyond traditional coaching, I'm designing the future of how people engage with play, skill-building, and movement. Unlike a typical golf coach who teaches technique, I engineer immersive experiences that challenge conventional instruction. I see myself as a strategist, an innovator, and a curator of play, ensuring that every DG environment fosters self-discovery, creativity, and a deeper connection to movement.
My work isn’t just about making better golfers; it’s about creating environments where skill emerges naturally, competition feels joyful, and every player, regardless of ability, finds a sense of mastery and excitement.
I merge psychology, game design, and physical movement to craft experiences that make learning intuitive, remove barriers to entry, and redefine the role of sports in personal growth.
Essentially, I don’t just teach golf, I reimagine how people experience it.
TREVOR BRITTON
LEAD JUNIOR GOLF COACH
Former DiscoverGolf Student, College Golfer
While growing up in the northern suburbs of Illinois, Trevor immediately made his presence known within the DiscoverGolf family as a precocious 12-year-old. In the spring of 2018 Trevor made a decision to pursue his dream of coaching the DG way. Through his journey, Trevor has been fortunate enough to touch the lives of many kids and adults, sharing his golfing prowess. Trevor hopes people are able to sense his passion and find DG as galvanizing as he does! Trevor's work ethic and passion for the game emanate from every lesson tee and room he enters. Forever proud of his African American heritage, Trevor is on a quest to bring financial and spiritual wellness to young, diverse, “golf-adjacent” men and women who seek to empower themselves while creating radical transformations within children and the communities in which they reside.
“The meaning of my work is to provoke a cultural movement that uses golf as a flashlight—to shine on all people's innate wisdom and strength.”
